S.O.L. in S.D.
I just spent the last three days in Orange County, trying to escape the fires of San Diego county. Ten in all? Perhaps it was 11. I lost count. Not to discount the fires that occurred throughout southern California, but without a doubt, San Diego county was hit hardest. To recap, I got a call from my roommate early Monday morning (while at Tbear's place) telling me that I may want to get my stuff since the neighborhood next door was told to evacuate. So, that's what I did. Everything was fine for awhile until Tbear got the call from authorities about 24 hrs later. I knew this was coming - I had woken up at about 5AM Tuesday morning to a smoke filled house. I could see cars whizzing by just outside the window. I was scared at this point and woke up my boyfriend so we could get the hell out of dodge. Problem is we couldn't head north, the Fallbrook fire had closed the 15 freeway. We couldn't head south because of the fires in that direction. So we headed West, then North. Thank you to my dear friends for letting me stay at their place this whole time. They even fed us well! Tomorrow I finally return home.
